ABC Printing & Signs is owned and operated by Berni and Steve Hansen and Bryan and Joanne Wiley.  All four have been friends since the mid 1980s.  Bryan and Steve have worked together all of that time except for the first four years when they purchased ABC in August of 1993. Berni began working part time in the business right near the beginning and gradually increased to full time as their children got older.  Joanne has done the bookkeeping from the beginning and is now full time with bookkeeping and customer service.  They attribute much of their partnership success to their annual planning retreats as well as to the fun they enjoy together. Outside of work Bryan and Steve enjoy mountain biking on the many great trails close by.  Both couples have grown children and are now thoroughly enjoying time with their grandchildren.

Since purchasing ABC, they enlarged the original premises on Ryan Road twice, moved to larger quarters on Puntledge Road, and in 2004 again doubled their space to better accommodate their widening range of services. In March of 2011 they moved to their present location at 301 Puntledge, another doubling of their space.

The range of products and services offered by ABC is a reflection of their desire to truly look after the needs of their customers, while helping to strengthen the local business community and contribute significantly to the Comox Valley community at large. Organizations that they regularly contribute to include, YANA, CV Transition Society, Hospice Society, Camp Homewood, Rotary Fundraising, MusicFest, Dance de Rock, Stepping Stones, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Community Foundation, Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation and others. They also support local kids sports teams, the arts, churches and kids camps.

One of the initiatives that they have become passionate about is Shop Local. Their decal program can be seen on vehicles and windows around the valley. They strongly believe that dollars channeled back into local businesses have the greatest impact on the community through the wages they provide and the "giving back" that Comox Valley businesses are so well known for. A strong and vibrant small business community makes for a strong and healthy community.
